SGF Boss commissions another ICT centre in Adamawa community

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Barrister Boss Mustapha has commissioned another Ultra-modern Information Technology center called, “NCC School Knowledge Center” in Government Day Secondary school Njoboliyo in yola-south Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The Technology Center, which was equipped with about one hundred computers, was donated by Universal Service provision Fund, Abuja.

Commissioning the Information Technology center with solar- power, the secretary to the state Government, Barrister Boss Mustapha said, for students to survive and compete in this digital age, they must excell in science technology hence it’s inclusion in curriculum as compulsory, particularly, the Information Communication Technology (ICT)

The SGF, who was represented by former Head of Service, Adamawa State, Dr. Louis Mandama, noted that the provision of the NCC knowledge Center by Universal Service provision Fund was inline with president Muhammadu Buhari’s educational drive to inculcate in the young ones, information technology for national and international examinations as well as researches.

Boss Mustapha, who urged the management of Government Day Secondary School Njoboliyo to design courses that would generate revenue to the ICT center called for intensive security so as to safeguard the computers.

The state Commissioner of education, Mrs.Wilbina Jackson said, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has already laid a robust policies in the sector hence the free NECO examinations and renovation of schools across the state.

According to her, there is the need for collective effort both from the stakeholders, parents,care-givers and development partners to expand the frontiers of education, particularly at the primary and secondary school level.
She commended Njoboliyo community for it’s effort in building a wide capacity examination hall, calling on the principal of the school to forward further areas of assistance to the ministry.

The Chairman of the occasion who is the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice Barrister Afraimu Jingi, had earlier stressed the importance of education and how the Njoboliyo community set a pace for partnership, adding that the ICT center is one of it’s kind in rural education centers.

Mrs. Esther Yakubu, the principal of the school decries challenges like encroachment into school premises, fencing, portable water supply and qualify manpower.

She expressed appreciation to SGF, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, stakeholders, sons and daughters of Njoboliyo who influenced for the information Technology Center in the school.

There were goodwill messages from Chief Hezron Fada, Chairman, Pene-da-Bwatiye, Chairman Planning Committee, Alfred Babale and District Head of Yola’ Alhaji Mustapha, Cika-soro Adamawa.
