Unknown Gunmen kill kidnapped Taraba LG Chairman, police arrest 2 suspected assassins

The Taraba State Police Command has currently arrested 2 persons suspected to be kidnappers and killers of Ardo Kola Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Salihu Davo.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP David Misal disclosed this to our Correspondent in Jalingo through a text message.

In his replied to the text message sent to him on whether they are aware of the killing of Hon. Dovo, Misal wrote “We are aware, 2 persons currently arrested and been questioned”.

Recall that the Chairman of Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of Taraba State, Hon. Salihu Dovo was kidnapped and killed by unknown gunmen early hours of Sunday.

The kidnappers has called an official of the Local Government and announced the killing of the local council Chairman, which community members are suspecting a case of hired assassin’s.

A source said “they called an official of the Council to inform him of the killing, telling them to go search for his corpse in the bush.

The source also revealed that, members of the community who went on search in the bush found his body not long ago and has been taken to town.

The deceased, Hon. Salihu Dovo who was kidnapped by gunmen who stormed his residence in Sabon Gari Jalingo at exactly 1am, was latter murdered by his assailants.
