Adamawa State council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has issued stern warning to quacks and impersonators urging them to desist from such acts or face the wrath of the law.
A press statement by Fidelis Jocthan, the secretary of the council Tuesday said the council will henceforth not condone such acts.
” Our attention has been drawn to some individuals using unauthorized NUJ identification cards and stickers parading themselves as members of the union.
” The Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ) as a professional body would not condone such kind of impersonation as it is against even the law.
” Security agencies are hereby informed to clampdown on any person caught using unauthorized ID card or stickers on vehicles except genuine members of NUJ.
” The state council of the union will within one-week mandates it’s quackery committee to swing in to action by bringing the perpetrators to book,” the statement said.
