The unprecedented crowd in thousands of hundreds today in Mubi thronged the major roads, streets of the town to welcome the former Governor of Adamawa state, Senator Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindo observers confirmed it has never been seen since the return of democracy in 1999.
We observed thousands of people in the earlier hours of Friday lined up at the city toll gate in Yelwa ward causing a serious traffic hold up, holding a manner of placards, Chanting accolades of praises to see their worthy son who returned home for the first time after the 2019 general election. The people of Yelwa celebrated Bindow’s coming home with cows, Camels which on them were inscriptions that “sai Bindow, 4+4=8, Bindow Barka da zuwa, 2023 our Governor again.” The various inscription was indeed a prayer of victory in the coming 2023 elections.
The approximated six kilometers distance trekking from Yelwa, passing through Sabon Layi ward, Kolere to Lokowa ward is at most fifteen minutes trek but the massive crowd made the walking distance to over three hours before they reach the Emir of Mubi’s palace, Bindow’s first point of call.
The triumphant entry of Bindow has indeed shown there is a missing gap between the government and the led, connote a good omen to his political career as the people of Mubi.
The former governor a few days ago visited Yola, Adamawa unnoticed but the Yola international airport last Saturday with hundreds of people in a daily visit to his in Dougeri House in Yola.
In many of his responses to various groups and people to pay homage to him, he reiterated that is not in Yola for political reasons because is not yet time for that.
Bindow in the entourage of his past Deputy, Engr Martins Babale, commissioners, and numerous aides were well welcomed amidst cheering mode and celebration.
