Employment generation: Female only Northern Sen empowers 1,667 Adamawa constituents

In a renewed efforts to fight poverty and unemployment which is now plaguing the society, the only female Senator from the North, Aisha Dahiru Ahmed, popularly known as Binani, has empowered a total of 1,667 across her Adamawa Central Senatorial zone.

According to the senator, “The empowerment which is aimed at supporting our constituents to be self reliant came after Intensive Training on various skills.

”This empowerment is coming after an intensive training on various skills which include Computer Appreciation, Tailoring, Hair dressing, Aluminum fabrication, satellite installation, catering, tilling, Interlocking, vulcanizing, Plumbing, GSM repairs, shoe making, welding, barbing, Electrical Installation and Interior Decoration Basic Business Training.

”This will go along way in assisting our people to not only be self-reliant, but use it to pay school fees, hospital bills in addition to daily sustenance.

”In almost all cases you will find that each beneficiary will employ at least one person or two other people, thereby reducing the rate of unemployment.

”It is our hope that we will continue to attract more of such interventions to our people through the Constituency Projects intended for the benefit of our people,” she said.

Binani also thanked the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) through whose office the items were procured for distribution, ”we hope to do more for our people in the coming years insha Allah.”

On the second wave of coronavirus, the female senator prevailed on the need to stay safe, ” I cannot end this brief speech without reminding our people to be conscious of the Covid-19 that is spreading at a very alarming and frightening level.

”Let us always keep to the protocols announced by the Health Authorities of the State and the Federal Government. Let us always put our face masks in public places. Let us always maintain social distancing, let us always remember to wash our hands with soap in running water,” she warns.

“I thank my party, the APC for their support and I hope and pray that the beneficiaries would make judicious use of it as we look forward to ensure more democracy dividends for our people. Thank you once more, Miyetti,” she said.

Our correspondent reports that other speakers at the event includes the Interim National Caretaker Committee member of APC, representing North East, Prof. Tahir Mamman, Acting State Chairman of APC , Alh. Ibrahim Bilal, Members of the state executive committee, and other major APC stakeholders in Adamawa.
