At 52: Adamawa Reps Namdas reveals plans to contest gubernatorial seat of 2023

The member representing Toungo, Jada, Mayo-Belwa and Ganye federal constituency in the house of representatives and chairman house committee on army, Hon Abdulrazaq Namdas has publicly admitted nurturing a gubernatorial ambition ahead of 2023 gubernatorial polls in the state.

To that effect, the two term federal legislator said he is holding rigorous consultations with stakeholders to enable him take an informed decision.

Namdas who made the position known in a chat with newsmen during his 52nd birthday celebration on Friday, stated that he was over qualified to contest the position having contested the position about 10 years ago.

He said in 2011, he contested as the running mate to Eng. Markus Gundiri and finished as the first runner up in the election.

Namdas also said with the renewed spirit of cooperation in the party, he is sure that it will emerge victorious come 2023.

While pouring encomiums on Namdas over his numerous achievements, the north east vice chairman caretaker committee of APC, Prof. Mamman Tahir thanked Allah for sparing the life of Namdas to witness another milestone and to celebrate another birthday.

He assured that the party will give a level playing field to all those aspiring to contest any position without recourse to zoning arrangement.

Tahir expressed optimism that the party will emerge victorious in Adamawa come 2023 having reconciled all its members.

Similarly, the state caretaker party chairman, Ibrahim Bilal lauded the roles played by Namdas in strengthening democracy in Nigeria.

Bilal who called Namdas an enigma said the legislature has taken the political milieu by storm and has made paid his dues towards the development of the society both at the state and national levels.

Also commenting, an APC stalwart in Adamawa State and Sarkin Matasa of Adamawa, Barr. Aliyu Wakili Boya applauded the roles Namdas played in the socio economic development of the state saying that such commitment endeared him into the hearts of the populace.

Boya who described Namdas as a goal getter and a grass root politician with massive followers ship expressed optimism that his ambition to lead the state is a right step in the right direction and will surely get the support of the youths.
