Taraba Police to embark on search and arrest operations to recover looted items

The Taraba State Police Command has called on those in custody of looted government or private property items to return them, as the command will embark on search, arrest and recovery operations.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Command’s Spokesman, DSP, David Misal and made available to our Correspondent in Jalingo.

He said, the operation aimed at identifying the looters as well as buyers of such property as part of the Command’s determination and unrelenting effort to recover and prosecute offenders.

In view of the above, according to the statement, the Commissioner of Police advised that whosoever has in his custody any such property to return it to the police on or before 31/10/2020 otherwise if found will be made to face the full weight of the law.

The statement however, urged the general public to identify and report to the police any person(s) reasonably suspected to be in possession of such property.
