Looting: APC knocks Gov Fintiri of Adamawa as he denies collecting palliatives from fed govt

You can imagine the kind of Governor we have, lying to its citizens in a broad daylight. I don’t think he deserves to be our Governor.” Lawan said

The wide rate of looting activities by hoodlums in Adamawa resulting in the breaking of Government and individuals warehouses have attracted divergence comments by many people in the state.

Executive Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Fintiri during a state broadcast and a press statement is accused by All Progressives Congress (APC) a “liar” to have denied collecting palliatives from the federal government sent to cushion the effects of covid-19 in the state.

In the Press Statement Ahmadu said:

“I should emphasize that throughout these exercises, up to the fourth distribution, these items have been from our State Emergency stock.”

In a video clip trending in the social media, Gov Fintiri is seen appreciating the federal government, admitted to have eceived food items as palliative to cushion the pains people of the state are going through because of covid-19 pandemic.

The statement of the Adamawa Governor attracted a refutation reply by APC to have a lied in a broad daylight without considering the people of the state are curiously monitoring his government.

According to Ahmad Lawan, the organising secretary of the party in the state said Governor Ahmadu should clearly explain to the people of the state where and how the plundered hoarded foot items came to be if it is not actually coming from the federal government.

He accused the Governor of hoarding the federal government palliative to rebrand them for campaign purposes in 2023 at the expense of people dying in hungry.

“He can’t lie in a broad daylight to the people of the state, he degraded himself and the office is holding which is the overall image of the state. Everybody is aware that the minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq visited the state some few months ago and presented trailers load of rice and other food items to the state government, secretary to the state government was reported to be in received of the said items.

” It is really disturbing to have a Governor who is economical with the truth and I’m calling on the federal government to do something about it and EFCC to investigate the 1,800 bags of rice he admitted collecting and now denied given him.

“I’m suspecting a foul play if it is true,all the palliative in the warehouse looted are bought by the state government then the Governor should tell citizens of Adamawa state what happened to the federal government palliatives.

Lawan while appreciating President Muhammadu Buhari for providing the needed style of leadership, he said it’s now clear he is not the problem of Nigeria but Governors in the country are the ones bringing all manners of troubles.

“Buhari you have been vindicated,we have seen it clearly,you are not the problem of Nigeria our Governors are.” He added

He advised that the federal government should always have a close watch of its activities in all states of the federation by creating liaison offices in every state.

The former Northeast Vice chairman of the party, Umar Duhu said the speech of Governor Fintiri delivered to the people last Sunday an inexcusable blatant lies of a sitting Governor, empty and holds no water.

He said Governor Ahmadu babbled around to have said no palliative for the state from the federal government all this while.

“This speech is warped in lies.
It has exposed the kindergarten style of the state Government’s media handlers.
The worst they’ve come up with lately.
Refusing to share palliatives and making the federal government look unresponsive.” Juhu said

While the response of Chairman Adamawa concerned citizens, Alhaji Hussaini Gambo Nakura said the government of Adamawa deliberately hoarded the food items starve the people of the state.

“This is a selfish government, right from the onset it does not have good intentions for our people. Since it inception no single project is commission,or a single promise made fulfill,it is a one lie or the other government as far as i know.

“I was reliably informed that before the Sunday incidence government officials were packing up the hoarded food items and selling them to other markets.

” It’s unfortunate to have a government of tyranny, voted in by the people it promised heaven on earth,” Nakura said
