Nigerian League of Women Voters recognizes Female AIG, others in Taraba


The Nigerian League of Women Voters in collaboration with friends and Taraba women has organized a grand reception in honour of AIG Dr. Aishatu Abubakar Baju (FAB) and two others.

They are Dr. Aisha Shehu Adamu, the Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre FMC Jalingo as well as the Taraba state Civil Service, Ms. Suzy Nathans (Mni).

The colorful event took place on Saturday at one of the event centers in Jalingo, capital city of Taraba state with high ranking dignitaries in attendance.

The gesture was in recognition of their numerous contributions in various aspect of women development in the state.

Speaking at the occasion, Wife of Taraba State Governor, Anna Darius who was represented by her Senior Special Adviser on adminstration, Mairo Tafida, Anna said that there are issues that are associated with their various offices such as rape among others.

She charged them to do the needful to justify the confidence imposed on them and assured them of the necessary support to enable them succeed.

Mrs. Ishaku, also called on parents especially mothers to take seriously the education of their female children.

Earlier in her opening speech, the state chairperson women leaque of women voters Aisha Hadiza Bello yero, advises women to always encourage one another by empowering each other rather than pulling down each other.

She congratulated the celebrants for there exuberance performance,and call on them to avail there selves when ever the women need them.

While fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the event, AIG Aishatu Abubakar Baju (Force Animal Branch) expressed delighted, describing the honour as an encouragement and advocates for more representation and opportunities for Nigerian woman.

She said, the Nigerian woman has come along way and had done so much for the society, stressing that more need to be done in terms of recognizing them while she appreciated the Nigerian League of Women Voters for recognizing her.

AIG Baju who described women as hard working and dedicated, noted that most of the times the woman has to do three times what the man can do for her to become where he is.

According to her, to be a woman as a mother, wife and also a civil servant is not an easy task but encouraged women not to be lazy they should face the challenges and they will make it.

Also in an interview, the Medical Director of FMC Jalingo, Dr. Aisha Adamu expressed gratitude and appreciated the Association for finding her worthy to be recognized which she said it came from home and at the grassroot level.

She said, the Award will serve as an aspiration to the women and young generation that are coming up, so that one day they will also hope to be awarded.

Aisha Adamu, however restated commitment as the MD FMC, Jalingo to do her possible best to ensure human resources development in the health sector and promised to encourage young female in the system by training and retraining them to acquire more skills.
