GPAN lauds Organizers of #Fix Yola/Gombe Road, promises support for the movement

An advocacy by a group of Adamawa and Gombe Youths agitating for the complemention of Gombe-Yola Federal high way which was over two decades governments at various times awarded contract for the rehabilitation of the road but less result gotten to that effect.

The deplorable condition of the road linking many states in the North continues to attract concern by many Nigerians.

A movement under a #Fixgombe-yola road hastag campaign agitating for the completion of the road, especially the axis between Lafiyan Lamurde-Numam area of Adamawa State.

A Global Pan-Africanism Network (GPAN) North East Regional Chapter has lauded the group’s tenicity and zest by drawing the attention of the Federation government and critical stakeholders.

The Country Representative GPAN,Comrade L. O. Ola and North-East coordinator,Comrade Musa Ali Maishanu declare a support to the movement, assuring the group of pursuing the aim of the struggle until those in power do the needful of fixing the road.

“While, declaring our support to this agitation for a good course. I therefore, wishes to write and sent a worded warning message to the state apparatus both within and without Adamawa state that the GPAN Nigeria Chapter as an international civil rights,Human Rights and Pan-African organization cannot tolerate any form of brutality or threats to be planned against this movement and those behind it.

“Because it has become a tradition in Nigeria for the government and its state apparatus like the Police, DSS and other Repressive state apparatuses (RSA) to serve as agents of exploitation and domination rather than discharging their official responsibilities as agents of social control.

“If these governments agencies who known as exploitative machineries refuse to desist from this unlawful acts especially on this movement for “#FIX YOLA/GOMBE-ROAD”. GPAN and its sister’s branches across the federation of Nigeria will be there to act on behalf of these patriotic citizens who didn’t want to stand and watch Yola-Gombe highway is growing from bad to worse.” Maisanu said
