The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Taraba State Command has decorated its 53 newly promoted Officers.
Speaking during the ceremony held Wednesday at the State Command’s Headquarters, Jalingo, the State Comptroller, NIS, Doris Themam said the Officers from the State Command were promoted based on merit.
She called on the celebrants to work hard to justify the honour done them by the Immigration Service.
According to her, if they want to be up to date in the present scheme of things, they must develope themselves academically.
Mrs. Themam, also lauded the Federal Government for lifting the ban between HND and BSC holders, saying it is a good initiative.
Our Correspondent reports that 5 of the Officers were promoted from Superintendent to Comptroller Cadre and 3 Officers from Junior to Senior Cadre.
While holders of NCE, HND and ND were promoted to Inspectorate Cadre, Secondary School Certificate holders got promoted to Assistant Inspectorate Cadre.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, ACI D.T. Mallum thanked the Nigeria Immigration Service for the gesture and promised putting in their best to put the Service to an expected level.
Some of the Officers Interviewed by our Correspondent expressed joy over the harmonization of Ranks in all Agencies under the Federal Ministry of Interior.
