Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun, has lent his voice to the current call for an end to the activities of SARS operatives in Nigeria following recent protest by Nigerians.
Balogun said he’s supporting the movement to demand an end to the activities of SARS operatives.
The Rangers Football Club defender took to his social media account and joined other Nigerian youths after he confirmed to have seen images of SARS brutality.
He wrote, “The reasons for the #EndSARSProtests have just come to my attention via very disturbing images & tweets.
“It is never good when those charged with protecting the citizens are now terrorising, extorting or even killing the same citizens.
I support #EndSarsProtests #EndSars🇳🇬💔.”
On Sunday, Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, ordered the banning of the personnel of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS).
Nigerians had called on the Super Eagles players to join the call for the outright end to activities of SARS.
They urged players to print inner wears that will convey the message before the game against Algeria.
