A daily but slowly increase of people in Nigeria contacting the Covid-19 virus, with senior Government officials at both Federal and State levels willingly submitting their blood samples to testing of coronavirus. Some concern citizens who are residents of Adamawa State have continued to wonder why the Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru has refused to do the needful by self isolating himself and sending his sample to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for testing following the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus in Nigeria.

Ahmed Lawan,a Concern citizen said so far no confirm case of affected person (s) in the state but when Governor Ahmadu as the leader in the state will confirm his status on covid-19 that Will Make the state on a proper stand to fight the virus, people in the state will courageous enough to willingly go for testing.

According to him the question became pertinent knowing the fact that the chairman of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum, Kayode Fayemi was equally tested, advised all Governors to do same, self isolate and test for the virus following contact with persons that tested positive during the last Governors meeting.

Ahmed said is not about politics but after the well being of the Governor and the entire people of the state, because his action either negetive or positive will repose confidence on him as a thoughtful leader since covid-19 is not even a death sentence.

Another citizens, Alhaji Hussaini Gambo Shinko asked myriads questions of Why Governor Fintiri refused to self isolate and test for the virus? Why does he continue to hold public meetings and official engagements without first ascertaining his status for the virus? For a leader who is supposed to care and protect his people that his action is most unfortunate.

“For a Governor who is quick to say that his Government will not be able to pay civil servants their legitimate consequential increment of the minimum wage due to the corona virus outbreak even when no single case is recorded in the state, one would expect Governor Fintiri to heed the advice of the chairman of the Governor’s Forum and not expose the people of the state to such avoidable risk.

“As a responsible leader, we expect Governor Fintiri to responsibly assuage every form of doubt and fear by self isolating and testing for the virus. Mr. Governor you cannot be too sure, heed the advice of the Governor’s forum and test for the virus, your continued official engagements and multiple contacts with the people of the state is a show of irresponsibility.

“We are not saying you are positive sir, but you must follow due process and do the needful to win the confidence of the people of the state and to also show leadership and care for the people of the state whom God has entrusted into your hands at this moment.

“You were quick to blame covid-19 for not been able to pay civil servants part of their entitlements, please, we expect you to be quick in isolating and testing for the virus to protect the people you lead. Gambo said
