Over two hundred orphans benefited from clothing as part of assistance by orphans committee of Muslim council Mayo Belwa local government for this year’s edil fitr sallah celebration.
The Event took place at central jummuat mosque Mayo Belwa thursday.
The acting chairman of the committee Mallam Muhammad Danladi said the gesture was to give the orphans a sense of belonging during the Sallah.
He said over one hundred and forty thousand naira was garnered for the projects where two hundred and ninety one orphans benefited.
Mallam Danladi said the money was part of the contributions by individuals in the area adding that cloths were purchase with the money.
He called on Guardians of the children to use the items for the purpose intended.
Earlier the Chairman of Muslim Council Mayo Belwa Modibbo Ahmadu Liman Aminu lauded the orphans committee for the job well done and urged them to sustain it.
The chairman appealed to Muslim wealthy individuals in the area to assist needy and orphans in order to give them a sense of belonging.
During the event there were Qur’anic recitation from Mallam Ibrahim Hamid Modibbo as well as Prayers for peace and tranquility in the state and Nigeria in general.
