Taraba state 8th Assembly dissolved, slated June 3rd for commencement of 9th Assembly

As the first tenure of the state legislatures for four years in office elapsed on Tuesday May 30- 2019, Taraba state eight state House of Assembly has been dissolved.

The eight state Assembly which was constituted in 2015 was dissolved on Tuesday to ushered in new members that were elected at the 2019 general elections as representatives of various state constituencies.

The dissolution of the House followed a letter sent from the state Governor Darius Ishaku, read by the out going Speaker Rt. Hon. Peter Abel at the last plenary of the eight Assembly which was adopted by the members.

Speaking during the session, out going Speaker Peter Abel commended his fellow colleagues for their commitments, saying their legislation in the last four years have benefitted the good people of the state.

He noted that their tenacity engendered a good working relationship with other arms of government.

Peter Abel however, described the relationship between the legislature and not only with the executive but also the judiciary was cordial.

The House during the valedictory remembered it’s two members that lost their lives among activities.
