Gov. Ishaku says Unity of Tarabans not negotiable

Taraba state Governor,Darius Ishaku and his Deputy Haruna Manu has been sworn in for the second term in office.

Speaking during the inauguration celebration, Governor Ishaku said concerted efforts would be made to explore internally generated revenue to consolidate on achievements recorded in his first term.

Ishaku disclosed that money from federal allocation cannot longer sustained development in the state, hence the need to look inward.

The Governor asked Tarabans to distance themselves from citizens who have continued to use divisive means to tear the people apart, saying the unity of Tarabans is not negotiable.

He promised to revitalised Agriculture, Power, Commerce and established mechanism that would support security operatives in the state.

Speaking on the strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASSU Taraba State University Chapter, Governor Darius Ishaku pledged to resolve it soon, advising parents to be patient.

In a remark, Chairman of the state transition and inauguration committe, Ambassador Idris Waziri warned Tarabans to shun acts that would turn the state into a theatre of war and conflicts.

Waziri, appreciated Governor Ishaku for giving him the opportunity to serve as Director General of his campaign team and also as Chairman of the transition and inauguration Committee.

Earlier, Chief Judge of the State Josephine Tuktur administered the oat of office to the Governor and his deputy Haruna Manu.

Retired General Theophilus Danjuma, Speaker Taraba State House of Assembly Abel Peter Diah, Secretary to the State Government Anthony Jellason, as well as traditional rulers and Supporters within and outside the state witnessed the ceremony.
