Communities of Yaskule, Anguwan Sarki and Watu in Michika constituency have advised members-elect of the State House of Assembly,Hon Ayuba Joseph Kwada who is widely known as Depolice to enact laws that will fast track development and better the lives of the electorates as well as fulfilling their campaign promises so as to maintain their relationship with their electorates.

The communities made the plea separately while interacting with team from Centre for Women and Adolescents Empowerment Yola under its project “Transparency and Accountability Project TAP” who visited the area to enlighten them on the roles of a legislator and right of electorates to hold public officers accountable.
They called on the members-elect of the State House of Assembly to ensure that the have fulfill their campaign promises of judicious utilization of constituency allowances in providing drugs in government health centres, provision of boreholes in all political wards , fertilizers and herbicides as 90% of the residents are peasant farmers.

They also reminded the members-elect of the promise made of ensuring that reasonable number of youths are recruited into the Armed forces and Para-military as well awarding scholarship and empower youths and wimen who constitute bulk of the population.
They however, decried non-feeding of boarding students by school authoritues despite the payment for feeding made by the parents, calling on government to ensure free education from primary to Junior Secondary School levels.
They also called for the lifting of ban on motorcycles as it affects the famers negatively and suspension of curfew imposed on the town.
The residents attributed the problems usually hinders development to corruption, activities of sycophants, money politics and political thuggery among others.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Hassan Umar Shallpella told the residents that the project also covers tracking the electioneering promises of State House of Assembly members, ways to recalled non-performing elected member and the role of a legislator.
He said the essence of the project is to enable the electorates hold government officers and elected leaders accountable.
