The Provost college of education, Zing in Taraba state Dr. Mike Dio Jen has reminded students on the college’s zero tolerance to antisocial behaviors in the campus.
Dr. Mike Jen gave the reminder in a speech during the 40th matriculation ceremony held at the hall of the college, in zing local government area of the state.
He said over two thousand students were matriculated, pointed out that the college remained intolerance on antisocial behaviors such as examination malpractice, cultism, as well as hooliganism prostitution among other vices in the campus.
The provost described the theme of this year’s matriculation” Orientation Towards Academic Excellence and Successful Campus Life” as relevant and beneficial for a number of reasons, adding that it is important for the newly admitted students to come to terms with the realities of campus life.
Dr. Mike Dio Jen also warned students to desist from a mindset of studying to get commendation from parents or friends but they should be committed and always engaged in classroom activities and ask their lecturers questions where necessary with a view to graduate in good time.
In a remark, Kpanti Zing His Royal Alhaji Ibrahim Sambo who commended the management of the college for it’s effort in providing teachers and infrastructural development in the college also called on students to be committed to their studies and desist from any act of social vices.
Some students in an interview with Radio Nigeria pledged to the college and their parents to be law abiding and committed to their studies, while they commended the management of the instruction for securing degree programs.
