The immediate past commissioner of information and strategy in Adamawa State, Comrade Ahmad Sajoh commisserated with the family of late Paul Wampana to have written his name in the sands of time from a humble background to a minister, senator of the federal republic during the Shehu Shagari era in 1979.
Sajoh comfort the family that Paul was indeed a self made man and inspiration to many in Adamawa State. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
“Adamawa State and indeed Nigeria has lost an statesman and a respected grassroots politician. He is SENATOR PAUL WAMPANA VIMTIM. He died earlier today.
“From a humble beginning as a classroom Teacher, Senator Paul Wampana rose to become the first Speaker of the Gongola State House of Assembly 1979 to 1983. He was later appointed a Minister in the Government of Alhaji Shehu Shagari which was toppled in 1984. He later got elected to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria during the aborted third Republic.
” His last major political office was National Vice Chairman North East of the PDP in the fourth Republic.” He said
