A People’s Democratic Party, PDP, stalwart Dr Umar Ardo morned the demised of Sen Paul Wampana and described it a great Lost to Nigeria, who was a detribelised Elder Stateman.
“It is with a deep sense of loss and heavy heart that I join millions of our people to mourn the death of an illustrious son of Adamawa and great citizen of our dear country, Nigeria, Sen. Paul Wampana, whom I was privileged to work very close with.
“Late Sen. Wampana ranked among the very few of Nigerians who, in his public life either as Speaker Gongola State House of Assembly, Hon. Minister of State Health, Senator of the Federal Republic, PDP National Vice Chairman, or other numerous public services he performed, was never swayed by sectional, ethnic or religious considerations in taking decisions on public policy. Once a matter is for public good, Sen. Wampana needed no other persuasion to guide his decision. In him the country has lost a gem.
“On behalf of myself, my family and all members of the Northern Leaders and Stakeholders Assembly (NLSA), I extend our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to his immediate family and the Emir and people of Mubi Emirate on this sad event. May His Soul Rest In Perfect Peace. Ameen.”Ardo mourned
