The leadership of Radio, Television, theater and Arts workers of Adamawa Television and Nigeria Television Authority in Adamawa State (RATTAWU) have condemned in totality the intrusion of police officers in to NUJ premises, describing the act as uncivilized and barbaric.

The leaders who also threatened to shut-down their Media houses in case of any repeat of such action said,NUJ is an institution and it should be protected.

The leaders of the Chapels, Ibrahim Audu and Rikwinya Joshua Hassan who spoke separately during a courtesy visit to the leadership of NUJ Secretariat said, they would not tolerate such affront on the media because the role of the media in this critical COVID-19 is critical and they should not be molested

The RATTAWU leaders said, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has safed the situation by intervening if not,they would have mobilized their members for massive protest to police Headquarters.

On his Response, the Chairman of NUJ , Adamawa State council, Comrade Ishaka Dedan who was flanked by EXCO thanked them for the solidarity visit.

Reiterated that RATTAWU and NUJ are inseperable Sister Unions which will always and constantly protecting the interest of the masses while on official assignment and as such there should not be any form of attacks by any security agents.

He assured them of corporate Unity that will see to the grow and wellfare of all members constituting the two unions in the state.
