New leaders of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Adamawa State chapter were inaugurated last Wednesday 25th March, 2020 to pilot affairs of the council in the State.
The event at Misbee’s Treat, witnessed the inauguration of Ambassador Ajine K. Delo and Comrade Ibrahim J. Maisaje as the Chairman and Secretary respectively. Oath of office administered by Senior Magistrate Daniel John.
It is indeed a development that put to rest leadership tussle in the State chapter of the council since the impeachment of the former Chairman and Secretary of the State council.
Before their inauguration, the duo who took over from their predecessors served as Deputy Chairman and Public Relation Officer 2 (PRO 2) respectively, afterwards, interim Chairman and Secretary of the State council when the former Chairman Halilu Isa and his Secretary Martin Banga Madanga were both suspended by the State council Management before their impeachment on 10th February 2020 for gross misconduct, mismanagement and abuse of office.
Though the event was on low key, TGNews observed that it was not unconnected with the current directive of banning social activities of more than 50 people to curtail the spread of coronavirus
In his inaugural speech, the newly sworn in State Chairman of the council Ambassador Delo affirmed that their emergence as Chairman and Secretary is for a just course and thank members of the State NYCN for the confidence and trust reposed on them to be worthy in such capacities and further promised to carry every EXCO along in the course of discharging their statutory obligations.
He commended the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for a good start and restoring the prestige of the State before the eyes of the public both within and outside the State. He also emphasized their readiness to partner with his Government so as to bind a fraternity that would improve the life of the Youth and move the state to greater heights.
He described the youths as the cardinal organ that hold future of the state and therefore, urged them to be well behaved, respect the constituted authorities, united and to be vanguards in the journey of transforming the new Adamawa state.
While praying for a lasting solution against the Covid-19 pandemic, the new Chairman also urged the general public to adhere strictly to the health tips given by the health specialist and to abide by the measures taken by the State Government that would control and curtail the wide spread of the deadly virus.
It could be recalled, that the State Upper Area Court 1 while acting on a suit filed by the former Chairman and Secretary of the state NYCN challenging their suspension and subsequent endorsement of the incumbent Chairman and Secretary while on acting capacity, stroke out the suit for not been proper before the Court.
