Covid-19: Taraba govt provides isolation center

Taraba state government says it has provided an isolation center at Federal Medical Center (FMC) Jalingo as part of measures against the possible spread of Covid-19 in the state.

State Commissioner of Information and Re-orientation, Barr. Danjuma Adamu disclosed this in an interview with our Correspondent in Jalingo.

He said, the state government has put in place all necessary precoutionary measures to prevent the possible spread of the Corona virus as earlier advised by the Federal Ministry of Health and Centre for Disease Control.

Barr. Danjuma Adamu explained that, Governor Darius Ishaku because of his concern of ensuring the health being of citizens of Taraba state, he has since directed the closure of both government and private schools in the state.

According to the Commissioner, the Governor had also met with religious bodies both CAN and Muslim Council and directed them to embark on sensitization campaign to the sixteen LGAs of the state.

He said they have already embarked on the campaign which is aimed at sensitizing the public on the need to abide the directives of health experts to include hand wash with sanitizer, social distancing among others.

Commenting on the ongoing projects, Adamu called on Tarabans to give maximum support and cooperation to enable Governor Ishaku fulfill his desired goals of providing dividends of democracy for the people of the state.
