Less Privileged people receives N509.64m free cash support by Buhari in Adamawa

Buhari distributed the money from May 2019 to October 2019 through the House Uplifting Programme under the Conditional Cash Transfer programme.

Mrs Patience John, the state Training and Communication officer of the programme,, disclosed this in an interview with Tgnews.com in Yola.

John said that the programme was part fulfillment of President Buhari’s campaign promises and was designed to support the less privileged in the society.

”The pilot programme kicked-off in August 2017 in Adamawa with 8, 653 beneficiaries in six local government areas of the state.

” The programme has now fully implemented and expanded to 12 Local Government Areas out of 21 Areas , where a total of 16,988 House holds are benefiting from the scheme.

” Every selected and beneficiary household collected free monthly stipend of N5, 000 cash ,and from May 2019 to October 2019 , a total sum of N509, 640,000 million naira shared free to the beneficiaries ” John said.

According to her, there have been a lot of positive testimonies from beneficiaries after successful implementation of the programme.

She said 92 per cent of the beneciary housing holds were women and the programme had drastically reduce poverty among poor people and improve living conditions in the state.

John listed the beneficial areas in the state that include Madagali, Michika Maiha and Mubi North from Adamawa Nothern Senatorial Zone.

Others are Song, Girei, Gombi and Song as well as Numan , Lamurde, Shelleng and Toungo from central and Southern Senatorial Zones respectively.
