Taraba State Commissioner of police Alkasim Sanusi said if unnecessary communal and tribal conflicts did not end in some parts of the state, his number one suspects are traditional and religious leaders in the affected areas.

He made this statement while briefing newsmen on the recently success recorded by his men in collaboration with other sisters security agencies of arresting some criminals including kidnappers at the Command’s Headquarters in Jalingo on Wednesday.

Alkasim Sanusi who expressed dismay over the reoccurring communal clashes as well as tribal conflicts in some parts of the state also vow to arrest all traditional rulers and religious leaders leaving in such areas, saying that there is no way conflict will occurred without the concept of any among them.

He therefore appealed to both traditional and religious leaders to joined hands and put in place serious measures that will complement government’s effort of bring to an end such crisis bedevilled some parts of the state.

The Police Commissioner urged people of Taraba state to emulate the Mumuye tribe in terms of peace coexistence and seek for their cooperation for security operatives to secure the state.

CP Alkasim Sanusi however applauded the effort of the state Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku towards maintaining peace in the state, where he restated their commitments of protecting lives and property of citizens of the state.
