The independent national electoral commission has released the supplementary elections schedules of 23rd March to include only five States excluding Adamawa state and Tafawa Balewa LGA of Bauchi state because of the court order restraining the commission not to conduct the election.

“By Court order, the Commission is restrained from conducting supplementary elections in Adamawa
State and collating results for Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State. Pending the
determination of the cases in Court, supplementary elections will hold in five (5) States – Benue, Kano,
Plateau, Sokoto and Bauchi (excluding Tafawa Balewa LGA).

It howeevr daid that:” state Constituency elections in Adamawa and Bauchi States will hold as scheduled. In Adamawa State, elections will hold in Nassarawo-Binyeri State Constituency of Mayo Belwa LGA, which was countermanded as required by the Electoral Act following the death of a candidate on the eve of the Governorship and State assembly elections held on 9th March 2019.

“Supplementary election will also
hold in Uba/Gaya State Constituency in Hong LGA. In Bauchi State, supplementary elections will hold in
Kirfi State Constituency of Kirfi LGA.”

NOTE
i. By Court order, the Commission is restrained from conducting supplementary elections in Adamawa
