The senator representing Northern Adamawa, Binta Masi, has in an unusual show of sportsmanship, commended electorates in Adamawa north constituency for the outcome of February 23rd elections, where APC were announced to have lost.

Binta said those who voted for and against her in the presidential and national assembly elections were expressing their interest and that democracy has prescribed for voters to make such choices after every four years.

She said, democracy has given constituents the right to choose the kind of leaders they want based on service rendered and that she would remain grateful for the opportunity to serve and would remain committed in the service of the common interest of her people.

Binta made the remarks Monday, while addressing Newsmen in Yola, Adamawa state.

Binta said, “I want to thank everyone who voted for me in the February 23rd senate elections for Adamawa North Senatorial seat.

“I also appreciate all of the people who were supportive of my candidacy in various ways.

“I commend those who did not support me and pray that they have more reasons to appreciate my contributions for our common good.”

She added that, “I salute all the candidates for their interests, efforts and recommend people, especially women (as we are still underrepresented), to be more involved in active politics.

“I believe that the biggest room in the world is the room for improvement and I am glad that together we will make a difference for God and our beloved country.

“I am certain that we will see more good days for God have planned some better things for us and only together with us can these things be made perfect.”

The senator concluded that, “I will continue my commitment to public service by contributing my quota in fighting for the ideals and principles that will make our community, commonwealth, and country stronger as the struggle continues because it is not over yet, until it is truly over
