Presidential election: Is “fake news” that Atiku gave me $1m-Adamawa REC

A viral social media post trending in all platforms is seen to be implicating the Adamawa state Residence Electoral commissioner (REC),Barr Kassim Gaidem to have collected one million US dollars in connection with the coming presidential elections of 23rd February 2019.

According to an earlier report revealed that the Presidential candidate of People’s Democracy Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar gave up one million dollars Money and with a promised of a House in Dubai to Gaidam for the purpose of Saturday’s elections.

On a blatant rebuttal of the weighty allegation,Kassim consider the report as ”fake news”, he revealed that in his whole life he has never have a one on one direct contact with Atiku Abubakar who they have accredited is the source owner of the money to him.

“I can state without fear of contradiction that Atiku probably does not know how I look, because I’ve never met him personally, all my life. I was shocked to read what was credited to me by some unscrupulous persons,” he said.

Kassim who is an experienced senior official of the independent electoral commission (INEC),conducted many elections in Adamawa state and other States in the country said his integrity at this time cannot be challenged by some unscrupulous elements that are good in propagating fake news.

” I have been conducting an elections in this country, this not the first time i reside as the number INEC official in Adamawa state, without missing words nobody can raise an accusing finger of corruption on me.

“I have a name tag,I can’t allow my good name to be drag into the mud of mockery on corruption ground.” Gaidam refuted

He maintained that INEC is committed and focused on conducting credible elections in the country and Adamawa can’t never be in any way exceptional.
