Senator representing Taraba Central under the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC, Senator Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for his developmental programs and policies.
Senator Yusuf who made this commendation in Jalingo, the state capital while fielding questions from journalists, pointed out that the APC Leadership under PMB has done well in the areas of power, Transportation, agriculture, N-Power as well as trader money amongst others, where he said the President need another term to complete and do more for the country.
According to him,Taraba State not to re-elect President Muhammadu Buhari, it will be an ingratitude on them, looking at the Mambilla Hyro power project, where the Federal Government is planning to sink over two Trillion Naira which has not been done anywhere across the country, a project he said that will employ over Seventy Five thousand Nigerians.
Commenting on the reimbursement for the Bali – Gembu road, the Law maker explained that Taraba State Government was invited to defend the figure, which was actually USD 24 billion, but when it went to the Senate as far back as July 2018 for approval after a committee report, the money was more than the first figure.
On the realisation of the Federal College of Education Mutum Biyu, Gassol Local government area of the state, Senator Yusuf Abubakar Yusuf said that the Bill has passed first and second reading awaiting for the third reading which would be in accordance with the House of Representatives, and later be sent to the Executive for approval.
He however, disclosed that he is also pushing a Bill on Tea and Coffee, pointing out that the most valuable industry in Taraba State is Tea, Wich necessitated him to make the bill at the development commission, which has passed first and second readings and it will soon go through a public hearing.
” Those two bills are of importance to my constituency, for they’re both in my constituency ( Taraba Central) the people of my constituency stands to benefit more in terms of jobs”.
“” You know that Tea is only produced and grown in Sardauna Local government, as a result of that, we have to bring this bill so as to sustain about Five thousand house growers”- he said.
“” In our days we use to go and plugged coffee, bring it home for frying it and drink, but today you can hardly have coffee on the Mambilla Plateau”-added.
