Serrving the common interest not personal or sectarian or Religion interest that are in conflict with the national goals and aspirations of building a united ,peaceful and progressive Nigeria and the World at Large.

The Archbishop of Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) and the President of Lutheran World Federation (LWF) ,Most Rev. Musa Panti Filibus, PhD, enjoined Christians Youths to actively participate in the forth coming 2019 general elections.

The clergy Man reminded the Youths in his message during the Youth of LCCN National Annual Youth Week held in Yola.

According to him is less than 200 days before the 2019 general elections. Political activities have already filled the air and he urge them to actively participate in deciding who their leaders will be come in 2019.

“Be sure to obtain your voters card and be a card-carrying member of any political party of your choice.” He stressed

“Let me remind you that being a youth is a gift and an opportunity that happens only once in life. You must take this chance and make the best use of it. I charge you to desire to excel through hard work, dedication, consistency and persistence. Do aspire to be winners wherever you find yourself and whatever you do, to Gods glory. Remember that the Bible does not leave space for laziness and wastefulness. In fact, the Apostle Paul gives this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10). Despite the enormous odds against the youth in Nigeria today, I encourage you to embrace entrepreneurship and be determined to succeed in whatever you are doing. I am aware some of you are already doing great things, keep it up and may the glory of the light of God keep shining your path.” Panti said

Musa dwell his sermon to them on this year’s theme on “Safe space for youth” as the year’s global youth day observed by all member countries of the United Nations that emphasizes the need for creating safe spaces for youth to contribute to the wellbeing of their respective communities.

“The church is committed to continue to provide space for you to demonstrate your love for God and develop your potentials to the benefit of the church and the society. The LCCN has as part of our global commitment in the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) recognised the critical role of youth in leadership that is why the church insists that youth is reserved a percentage of leadership in the church. It is indeed encouraging that more young people are taking leadership roles in most of our congregations. This is a good thing for a sustainable church now and in the future.”

He continue to say that In the face of insecurity and conflict, he call on them to always be security conscious and make deliberate efforts to prevent the eruption of violent conflicts. As it is written in the book of Proverbs 3:31; Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways. They should not allow themself to be used as instrument to violent conflict. Instead, they should remain focused in their effort to promote peace as a calling from God.

“As we come to the end of this important week, let us all be hopeful for brighter days ahead. Pursue education. Learn new skills and have a trade. Wherever you are, plant a tree as a sign that you believe in the future. Continue in faith and in fervent prayers and never give up for God has designed you to win. God bless you with fresh understanding of his word for the journey ahead. Amen.” He prayed
