The President of Lutheran World Fellowship (LWF) and the archbishop of Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria,Most Rev. Musa Panti Filibus, PhD said he grieve the sudden dead into glory, the CAN general secretary, Rev Dr. Musa Asake.
Panti who described Asake as a dear Brother and friend in the ministry of serving the Lord Jesus and Saviour as a shocking one having heard him address the press not long ago. ”What a mighty God we serve! Surely, as the Prophet Isaiah says, Gods ways and thoughts are too deep and distant from ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).”
“The death of Rev. Dr. Asake is indeed a painful loss to the body of Christ and the country at large particularly at this challenging time when such prophetic and pastoral voices are most needed. No doubt his death has left a huge vacuum from this mundane space. Yet in our grief, we are grateful to God for Rev. Dr. Asakes outstanding and courageous leadership with a high sense of devotion to his role as a minister of the gospel in the ecumenical body of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). His life and service to God and humanity will continue to be cherished and remembered with praise and thanksgiving to God.” Panti said
While sending condolences on behalf of The Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) to the family of the deceased, the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) family, the TEKAN/ECWA block of CAN, the Christian Association of Nigeria National Secretariat and the entire body of Christ in Nigeria.He enjoins them to take solace in God according to the book of 1 Thessalonians 4:14, which reminds us that:“since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died.”
