The Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN) and President of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Most Rev Dr. Musa Panti Filibus has issued a call to an end to the mindless killings by the suspected herdsmen in Adamawa state.
His call was made public through the communications office of the Church in Numan. The Archbishop Musa said, “I am deeply saddened and troubled by the continuous brutal killings and wanton destruction of property particularly in the northern states of Nigeria. We’re again woken up with the sad news of attacks on the communities of Simba, Shure, Tinde-Laro and other villages around Dumne in Song Local Government of Adamawa State, killing women, children and aged, and destroying sources of livelihood.” The Christian leader said,” This is unacceptable and should be strongly condemned.”
He prayed to God for the victims of these attacked and expressed touched he was. “Our hearts and prayers go to the victims of these heinous attacks that God’s hands may be with you all.”
He further reiterated the call on the government to intensify action in bringing a lasting solution to this incessant crisis. “I hereby reiterate our call to our governments at all levels particularly the Federal Government that has the constitutional responsibility to protect life, properties and the territorial integrity of Nigeria, to speedily tame these murderers who continue to desecrate the land with human blood and bring them to face the full wrath of the law.”
