We are determined to improve on health care- Gov Bindow

Adamawa state Governor, Senator Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, has flagged off another round of immunisation exercise, targeting over one million children across the state.

The governor, during a ceremony held in Demsa local government area on friday, said government is concerned with the good health and wellbeing of children, who he described as leaders for the future.

He appealed to parents to make their homes accessible to health workers who will visit them to inoculate children.

In her remark, adamawa state Commissioner of Health Doctor Fatima Atiku, said the flag off exercise is to kick start the exercise, which is expected to cover the entite state, targeted at children under the age of five.

In a welcome address, Executive Chairman of the state Primary Health Care Development Agency, Doctor Abdullahi Belel, said the flag off in Demsa was a demonstration of state government’s commitment to eradicate polio in the state.

He stressed that Demsa has the least number of children immunised and pointed out that the immunisation is essential in the growth and wellbeing of children.

While expressing gratitude, the paramount traditional ruler of Batta kingdom, Hama Batta, Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke, said his council will ensure that all targeted children are immunized.

He stated that the people of Demsa will continue to support Sen Jibrilla Bindow in his determined strive to place the state on a higher development pedestal.
