Adamawa state governor, Senator Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow has congratulated the Nigerian football national team, Super Eagles, on their qualification for the World Cup in Russia next year.
The Super Eagles defeated the Zambian national team with a lone goal by Alex Iwobi of Arsenal in Uyo to seal their qualification for the tourney next year.
In a statement signed by his S A press and media affairs, Mr Martins Dickson, Bindow thanked the Super Eagles for putting up an impressive performance in Uyo, said they did all Nigerians proud with victory over the hard fighting Zambians.
“The Super Eagles has shown good team spirit, determination and grit in all of their matches, and I have always been optimistic about their qualification for Russia”
“On behalf of myself and the good people of Adamawa state, I wish them the best in the tournament come next year and it is our prayers that they bring home the trophy”.
The Super Eagles’ patriotism and commitment to the Nigerian project has once again showed that our country is on the match to greatness. I implore all Nigerians irrespective ethnicity or religion to imbibe this same spirit displayed by the Super Eagles to enable us make progress as a country destined for greatness”, he concluded.
