Plateau State civil servants who has celebrated Eid-el-fitri without salary payment has accused Governor Lalong of neglecting their welfare.

The Plateau State Celebration witnessed low key, as House of Assembly members, civil servants berated Governor Simon Bako Lalong over nonpayment of four months’ salary.
Universalreporters247.com gathered that the Plateau State House of Assembly members including the state civil servants besieged their offices waiting for their bank alert which was
expected on the eve of Sallah 4th, July, 2016 but never came.

A Staff of Plateau Assembly who name was withheld expressed sadness with the APC government of Gov. Lalong
for refusing to offset civil servants salary after the promise he made that he will clear all the outstanding salary when the bailout fund of N5.2 billion has been released after two weeks before the said sallah Day.

Information revealed that the visit by Christian friends who used to visit their Muslim brotherhood during the Sallah period recorded low turnout, as most of the Muslims couldn’t afford to buy Ram or chicken for the celebration.

He said that the government assured them that they would receive their three months’ salary before Sallah Day celebration but were disappointed by the government.

However, he explained further the APC government had turned civil servants to potential beggars with high level of
indebtedness to settle after the Sallah break is over.

However, price of foodstuffs in the market has skyrocketed above the reach of the common people, where a tuber of yam now sells for N1,200 , a Ram goes for N100,000.00 to 150,000 respectively .
According to him, a bag of rice now sells at N18,000.00 forcing people to buy Gari or maize for the celebration of Eid-
el-fitr , “oh what a disappointment”? he said.
